Good News from Oceania!

e-Bulletin from Stuart Key - General Manager Commercial - Oceania

On the 26th March we began handling SilkAir’s 4 x A319/A320 aircraft per week in Darwin. The start up went extremely smoothly and we have had 100% accountable on-time performance ever since the inaugural flight.

April 2nd saw the Menzies team handle the first Air Asia X flight into Sydney. The daily A330 operation (looking at double daily by the end of 2012) is an extension to the fantastic partnership that Menzies and the Air Asia group has across Australia.

We have also had excellent news of late with Etihad agreeing to a 3 year extension to the PAX/Ramp handling contracts in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

In addition, Singapore Airlines have also not only renewed our PAX/Ramp agreement in Melbourne for a further 3 years but have awarded Menzies their sizeable PAX/Ramp business in Brisbane.

Alistair Reid, SVP Oceania and South East Asia commented “the news of the renewals and the contract wins in Darwin, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane underpins our status as the safest, most efficient and most reliable Handling Company in this region. The additional 21 x A330 flights per week will be welcomed by the Brisbane team and somewhat fills the gap vacated recently by Virgin and Air Australia”
