Peter Weir has spent over 21 years in air cargo. Starting as a Cargo Service Agent for TWA, he transferred to BAA-owned independent handler SkyCare Cargo when it controversially took over TWA’s handling in 1991. Within months he was promoted to Duty Manager of its 45,000 sq ft flagship facility. In 1993 transferred to Concorde Express as Terminal Manager, and then itself already owned by John Menzies plc.

At Menzies, Peter became Terminal Manager of another of its major LHR sites, and was one of the team that grew the business through acquisition and organic development from 1 facility to 17 across the UK and Ireland. He was promoted to General Manager UK and Ireland, then Ops Director, before spending 6 months assisting the company’s Cargo business in Australia.

On his return to the UK, he was appointed to head up Menzies’ airfreight wholesale business, AMI.

Peter is now located in Dallas Texas as Senior VP with global responsibility, and spearheading AMI’s planned further growth throughout the Americas.
